Jumpstarting a Career in Sales: What to Expect from TSI’s New Hire Training Week

Whether you’re fresh out of college, switching careers, or simply ready to unlock your full potential, our immersive, week-long training is designed to give you the tools, mindset, and confidence you need to hit the ground running. 

Day 1: Welcome to Townsquare Interactive

The first day is all about making you feel at home. You’ll get to know your fellow new hires, meet members of our Sales Leadership and Training Team, and gain a deeper understanding of who we are as a company: our mission, our core values, and how we help small and mid-sized businesses thrive through innovative digital marketing solutions. You’ll also learn what to expect from your career journey at TSI, from compensation structure to growth opportunities. Think of this as your official welcome to the TSI family. 

Day 2: Understanding the Sales Cycle

With a foundation in place, we dive into the fundamentals of sales—starting with you. On Day 2, we focus on the anatomy of a successful cold call. You’ll learn about our ideal client profile, study the psychology of different personality types, and begin mastering our proven talk tracks. We also introduce key sales concepts like “Fear of Loss” and value-based positioning, helping you understand how to create urgency and demonstrate impact. Through real-time roleplay sessions, you’ll start refining your tone, pacing, and confidence with personalized coaching along the way. 

Day 3: Practice with Purpose

By midweek, it’s all about repetition with intention. We tackle common objections and teach you how to maintain control of the conversation without sounding robotic. You’ll get hands-on with Salesforce, including learning how to track leads, manage your pipeline, and measure performance metrics. Feedback sessions are built into every step, so you can quickly adapt, improve, and grow stronger with each call. 

Day 4: Connecting the Dots

Day 4 is where everything comes together. You’ll participate in a full cold call simulation, build your own prospecting list, and polish your demo talk track. More than just memorization, this is where your personality starts to shine. We emphasize authenticity and encourage reps to find their own voice while applying best practices. A feedback huddle wraps up the day, highlighting what’s working and what still needs fine-tuning. 

Day 5: Finish Strong Friday

The week wraps with mock calls and final coaching from your trainer to ensure you’re ready for the sales floor. We also explore mindset techniques to help you stay resilient and curious as you begin reaching out to real prospects. It’s not just about skills, it’s about preparing you to “fall forward,” learn from every interaction, and continuously improve.
