This October, we’re celebrating a major milestone: Townsquare Interactive turns 13 years old! From a small office in Ballantyne, NC back in 2012 to a nationwide team helping over 25,000 small businesses thrive online, it’s been an incredible journey.
While so much has evolved over the years — new products, new offices, and new ways to support our clients — one thing has never changed: our mission to empower small business owners through results-driven digital marketing. And at the heart of that mission? Our people.
Whether you’ve been here since the early days or just joined the team, every success we’ve achieved has been because of your passion, hard work, and belief in what we do.
A Look Back at 13 Years of Milestones
From that first sale in 2012 to where we stand today, Townsquare Interactive has grown from a small, scrappy start-up to a nationally recognized leader in digital marketing solutions.
- 2012: TSI opened its doors in Ballantyne, NC, and celebrated its very first inside sale.
- 2014: We grew to 100 employees, and our parent company, Townsquare Media, went public on the New York Stock Exchange.
- 2015–2017: TSI hit major growth benchmarks — surpassing 200 and then 300 employees, earning our first Best Places to Work and Top Workplace awards, and celebrating 90+ internal promotions.
- 2018–2020: Our team expanded past 400 employees and 20,000 active clients, we renovated our uptown office, and successfully pivoted to remote work during the pandemic.
- 2021–2022: We re-opened our Charlotte office, launched our Phoenix location, and broke a new record with nearly 2,000 new units sold in a single month.
- 2022-2025: We pivoted our business to use best-in-class technology to help our clients and developed the Townsquare Business Management Platform to empower small business owners to grow and run their businesses successfully.
